Dementia Leadership

Dementia Leadership

“By 2022, the McCormick Care Group will be a leader in innovative dementia care.”

Dementia LeadershipIn keeping with the strategic directions we announced in 2012, we are in the process of further defining the steps we need to take to become a leader in dementia care.

In 2012, we engaged the services of research consultant, Gestalt Collective, to explore the dementia care landscape in Canada, and provide advice on how the McCormick Care Group can respond to unmet needs in this area. Gestalt completed a thorough analysis of our organization and collaborated with several dementia care experts and leaders in research and education to enable us to define the steps we need to take to meet our long-term goal.

While we are still in the process of determining the course of action the McCormick Care Group will take as a result of these recommendations, we wanted to share their findings, as outlined in the Leadership in Dementia Care Options Study.

This document not only helps us to better understand the role the McCormick Care Group can play, it provides some helpful and interesting information on the Canadian dementia care sector. We are pleased to share this document with you in the hopes that it encourages further thought, action and dialogue.

I would like to thank those of you who shared your valuable time by participating in the options study. We are most grateful for your support. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or if you require any further information. We would be pleased to hear from you!
