Caregiver Support Group

McCormick Caregiver Support Group

Making connections with other caregivers of people with dementia helps to alleviate feelings of loneliness and provides a much-needed support network. Participants learn from each other and share their challenges and successes in a safe, confidential setting.

This group meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month, except for July and August. Participants often find that the group provides a helpful way to problem solve around challenges that occur with being a caregiver of someone with dementia.

Please note that the Caregiver Education Series is a recommended prerequisite for this group.

Since many participants form supportive relationships during the Caregiver Education Series, we encourage participants to join this support group so they can continue their connections after the series is completed. An informal telephone network is also available for caregivers who wish to interact with other caregivers in similar situations.

Meetings:

First Wednesday of each month except July and August.

Pre-registration is required to participate. Please register by calling a social worker at 519-439-9336.
