Partners in Care

Partners in Care

The McCormick Care Group is grateful to the McCormick Care Foundation for enabling us to provide a wide range of life enrichment programs and events to those in our care. Congratulations to the Foundation on their successful Ritz Fundraising Gala and Silent Auction, which raised more than $70,000 to enhance quality of life for our clients and residents.

The Art of Remembering

The Art of Remembering

This past year, clients of the McCormick Dementia Services Day Program were invited to participate in a special art therapy project sponsored by the London Arts Council and the McCormick Care Foundation.  In addition to participating in visual arts activities, clients enjoyed working with professional artists in music and dance.

Community Collaborations

Community Collaborations

At McCormick Dementia Services, community collaborations are a key part of enhancing quality of life for those with dementia.  Here is a look at some of the community outreach activities we’ve undertaken this past year.

Designing for Cognitive Well-being

Designing for Cognitive Well-being

Imagine you’re a third-year college student in an interior design program and you’ve just completed six weeks of observing how long-term care residents with dementia interact with their living space. Now you find yourself presenting your recommendations to the architect who actually designed the facility and the CEO who oversaw the build.

Award-winning Compassion

Award-winning Compassion

Congratulations to Kerri Gaffney – the recipient of the 2019 McCormick Care Group Employee Values Award. Kerri, the Assistant Director of Resident Care, has been at McCormick Home for the past 18 years and has continually demonstrated genuine caring and dedication to those in her care as well as to colleagues throughout the home.

Flowering Expressions

For Roseanne Baird, volunteering at McCormick Home is just as much about giving as receiving. The former elementary school principal was looking for a way to fill the void left after the passing of her and her husband’s elderly parents. “When his parents passed away, I needed to find something,” says Roseanne. After moving to London and connecting with the Garden Club of London, Roseanne found her new passion – gardening and floral arranging.
