McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Wednesday, April 15, 2020
This is a follow-up McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
We will continue to provide these updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
The Premier of Ontario has announced that as of midnight, Wednesday, April 22, employees who work at more than one long-term care home will be restricted to working at one location only. This directive includes employees who work for retirement homes or for any other health service provider. We are currently determining our staffing needs in compliance with the government’s requirement that we receive confirmation from our affected staff by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17.
According to ministry directives and as a precautionary measure, we are testing any residents or staff who display one respiratory symptom, such as cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, or congestion. To date, approximately 20 swabs from both staff and residents have been sent for testing, with all showing negative results.
Thank you to all of the families who have called and provided their funeral home information. We appreciate this is a challenging and sensitive subject and are grateful for your responsiveness.
