McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Friday April 16, 2021
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Friday, April 16, 2021.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
The Government of Ontario has just announced tighter restrictions across the province in the fight against COVID-19. The health and safety of Ontarians is at risk as COVID-19 cases soar and variants of concern on are the rise and hospitals and ICUs are overwhelmed. As a result, tighter measures are being implemented and the Stay-at-Home order has been extended an additional 2 weeks, bringing the Province to near shut down until late May.
The Province has given authority to Police to stop drivers and ask if their trip is essential. If your trip is not deemed “essential”, you can be fined up to $750. I have developed a letter indicating you are an Essential Caregiver of a resident residing in Long-Term Care and that you are deemed to be essential by the Government of Ontario. Copies will be available at the screening station and a copy will be attached to the email version of this message.
The Province is again encouraging all Ontarians to receive their vaccination. If you have not had your COVID-19 vaccination and you are an approved essential caregiver, please consider it at this time. If you want information on how to receive your first dose, please email me at tpol@mccormickcare.ca.
We appreciate your understanding and continued diligence as we strive in our collective goal to keep our residents and each other safe.
