McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Saturday, April 16, 2022
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Saturday, April 16, 2022.
We regret to inform the families of Oak Avenue that we currently have three residents on the home area who are displaying cold symptoms. If your loved one is one of the three residents showing signs and symptoms, you will have been notified by the nursing staff prior to this message being sent. The three residents have been isolated and the nursing staff are preparing to administer PCR tests to the remaining residents with a less invasive swabbing method as directed by the health unit that includes swabbing the cheeks, back of throat and anterior nares, not the deep nasopharyngeal swab as previously required.
Oak Avenue will go into “suspect outbreak status” and as a result, all residents will need to remain on the home area and visiting will be limited to one essential caregiver at a time, until the results of the testing are received and we receive further direction from the health unit.
An update will be sent as soon as possible,
Thank you,
