COVID-19 Update April 23 2021

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Friday April 23, 2021

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Friday, April 23, 2021.

The Home has just received notification that a staff member, who has not yet been vaccinated, has just tested positive for COVID-19. This individual has not been in the home for 2 weeks, and support is being offered during this difficult time. After consultation with the Middlesex-London Health Unit, there are no further steps needed and this incident will not trigger the designation of an outbreak at the Home.

This is a reminder for all of us that COVID-19 continues to be present in our community and enhanced diligence in following public health measures both inside and outside the home remains a critical step in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

If staff and/or essential caregivers, have not yet received a COVID vaccination, you are encouraged to do so.  The Home will be offering onsite clinics starting next week. If you are interested in receiving the Moderna vaccine, and do not have an appointment already booked at a vaccination clinic, please let me know so an additional clinic can be arranged.  At this time, doses for next week’s clinic are committed for, however, we can schedule additional clinics when we have at least 10 individuals needing vaccination.  If you are interested, please contact Tanya Pol at tpol@mccormickcare.ca or call 519-432-2648 Ext. 2321.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and continued diligence as we strive in our collective goal to keep our residents and each other safe.

Tanya Pol,
Administrator
