This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, August 13, 2020.

We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.

There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.

I am pleased to report that our COVID-19 staff surveillance testing completed on Aug 5-6, 2020 resulted in 100% negative results amongst the staff.

We are currently in the process of finalizing the introduction of the Essential Caregiver Program.  Essential Caregivers will be considered under criteria for direct care, emotional support and cognitive stimulation, and for the majority of cases, would have had to be in place prior to the pandemic.

Essential Caregiver visits will commence the week of August 17, 2020.  The home will be in touch to confirm your approval and designated times for visiting to occur.  If you require additional information or wish to be considered for this role, you will need to schedule a phone interview with Angela Murray, Director of Resident Care, Kerri Gaffney, Assistant Director of Care, or Arlene MacDonald, Clinical RN to review your interest in this role, completing an assessment to determine if you meet the criteria.   You can reach them by calling or emailing the following:
