McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Thursday, December 10, 2020
Further to our update yesterday, the results of the second test of our resident who tested positive on Tuesday confirm a COVID-19 infection.
We continue to work closely with the Middlesex-London Health Unit, who declared an outbreak at the home on Tuesday, December 8. An outbreak is declared at a long-term care home, if there is one (or more) laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 in a resident or staff member.
We have no other confirmed cases of COVID-19 at McCormick Home at this time. Our residents were all tested yesterday, Wednesday, December 9, and testing of our staff is being completed today. We expect the results to be available within 24 to 48 hours.
We ask that our essential caregivers consider carefully their decision to visit their resident at this time. Please note that any visit will require the wearing of full PPE, which will be provided by the home for those caregivers visiting Evergreen Walk.
We continue to consult with the Middlesex-London Health Unit and are following their instructions accordingly. Our staff are working diligently to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control are being maintained.
Please be assured that we place the highest priority on keeping everyone safe and are taking all necessary measures to prevent further infections. We are grateful for your incredible support and know that we will get through this difficult time together.
More information and updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
Thank you,
