McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Friday, December 11, 2020
The results of our staff and resident COVID-19 testing have started to arrive at the home.
We are pleased to report that 130 of 155 resident tests and 116 of 196 staff tests have been received, and all results are negative.
Here is the current breakdown from each resident home area:
- Oak Avenue – All results received
- Willow – All results received except for two
- Maple – Half of results received
- Memory Lane – All results received except for five
- Evergreen Walk – All results received except for two
As a precautionary measure, all residents on Evergreen Walk must remain in isolation in their rooms for 14 days (until Wednesday, December 23, 2020), unless a new case of COVID-19 emerges, in which case the period will be extended. “Isolation” means that residents are unable to leave their rooms for any reason. In-room meals will be provided and, as residents are unable to use the tub room, residents will receive sponge baths.
As of Monday, December 14, 2020, the London-Middlesex region will move from an Orange-Restrict to a Red–Control level. While this change will not affect our current protocols, we strongly advise essential caregivers to seriously consider their decision to visit their resident at this time. Please note that any visit to Evergreen Walk will require the wearing of full PPE, which will be provided by the home.
COVID-19 testing for caregivers will be held next week on the following dates and times:
- Monday, December 14, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Once we know all our test results, I will arrange a Zoom family meeting to discuss our status and to answer any questions you may have.
Please know that we are deeply touched by your messages of encouragement and support during this difficult time. Your kind thoughts and words mean so much to us all.
Thank you,
