McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Monday February 1, 2021
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Monday, February 01, 2021.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
The Ministry of Long Term Care announced last week that all long-term care homes will have to implement Rapid Antigen Testing beginning no later than February 22, 2021. We have confirmed that all caregivers entering the home must undergo a rapid test, and wait for negative results, prior to visiting their loved ones. The test takes approximately 20 minutes to process, and is required to be administered only once per day.
We continue to work through all the logistics associated with complying with this new mandatory requirement. We will provide additional information as our plans are finalized. A Zoom meeting will be scheduled to discuss these changes and describe how this new testing regime will impact on your visits to the Home.
A reminder that all residents in the home will receive their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Any new admission since the initial vaccination on January 16, 2021 will receive the first dose, provided consent is given.
Wishing you all a wonderful week
