McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Friday February 19, 2021
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Friday, February 19, 2021
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
I will be holding a ZOOM meeting on Monday, February 22, 2021 @ 6:00pm to review the changes to the Minister’s Directive – COVID-19: Long-Term Care Home Surveillance Testing and Access to Homes, effective February 16, 2021.
From February 16-27, 2021 essential caregivers must be tested in one of the following ways:
- An Antigen Test three times within a seven day period, on non-consecutive days;
- A PCR Test every seven days for long-term care homes in public health unit regions in Orange, Red, Grey or Shutdown zones. (Note: The time period between testing should be as close to seven days as can practically be achieved, unless testing is conducted more frequently). London Middlesex is currently designated a Red zone.; OR
- One PCR Test and one Antigen Test within a seven day period.
McCormick Home will commence Antigen (rapid testing) as planned on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Caregivers must wait for the result of the test, and obtain a negative result before heading into the home to visit your loved one.
Thank you again for all your patience and understanding as we navigate through these changes together,
Have a wonderful weekend,
Tanya Pol,
