COVID-19 Update February 8 2021

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Monday February 8, 2021

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Monday, February 08, 2021.

There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.

I am pleased to report that residents received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Saturday, February 06, 2021. The four residents who moved into our home, following the first vaccination clinic, received their first dose.  Thank you to all of the families and residents who supported the vaccination program.  This is a critical step in our fight against COVID-19!

The Ministry of Long Term Care has released a clarification to its Rapid Antigen Testing Directive.  Effective February 22, 2021, the Ministry of Long Term Care is mandating that all caregivers undergo a rapid antigen test each day they visit a home.  Further, caregivers are required to wait for their results before proceeding to all resident home areas.

A Zoom meeting will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 @ 6:30pm to review the new directive, protocols and discuss how this new testing regime will impact on your visits to the home.  Links to the ZOOM meeting will be distributed in a separate email to follow.

Have a wonderful day,
