McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update #1
Thursday, January 13, 2022
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Thursday, January 13, 2022.
In the last few days, we received some positive resident test results that will now extend the outbreak on Evergreen Walk until at least January 23, 2021. There are currently 13 resident cases on Evergreen Walk at this time. All residents who tested positive remain stable and are showing improvement daily.
This home area remains in precautionary isolation due to a number of residents who have respiratory symptoms from an unknown pathogen. Residents displaying respiratory symptoms will remain in isolation for a minimum of five days. We are awaiting one more result, at which time future steps will be determined.
One resident is confirmed positive for COVID-19 from PCR testing. The health unit has been notified, and we are awaiting guidance on our next steps.
As a follow up to yesterday’s communication, four of the five residents who had mild symptoms related to their booster administration are doing well today. The one outstanding PCR test result came back negative for COVID-19.
McCormick Home will be hosting booster clinics for caregivers on Thursday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 25, 2022. If you would like to book an appointment, please contact Tanya or Arlene.
Once again, if you or anyone in your immediate household are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please do not visit the home for 10 days after the start of your symptoms. If you are unsure of what to do, please do not hesitate to contact us for guidance.
Stay safe and keep well.
