McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update #2
Monday, January 03, 2022
This is a second McCormick Care Group update for Monday, January 03, 2022.
It is with regret that I announce that we have received confirmation that a resident in Evergreen Walk has tested positive for COVID-19. In consultation with the health unit, a precautionary outbreak has been declared in this home area. All residents will be isolated to their rooms and, as a reminder, only one essential caregiver will be allowed to visit at a time. An update will be provided as soon as possible with the next steps.
Essential caregivers will be required to wear full droplet and contact precaution PPE upon arrival at the Home. Please remove all PPE when exiting the resident home area at the end of your visit.
The Premier held a press conference today to provide an update, and introduce new restrictions, as the Omicron variant continues to spread across the province. We heard that the next few weeks will be challenging, due to the highly contagious nature of this variant. It is a reminder that we can do everything right, but still catch COVID-19. We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we respond to the constant change in the fight against COVID-19.
Please continue to be diligent following all public health measures including masking, physical distancing and hand hygiene. Please limit your contacts and stay home as much as possible.
