COVID-19 Update Jan 7 2022-1

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update #1

Friday, January 7, 2022

This is a McCormick Care Group update for Friday, January 07, 2022

Update on Evergreen Walk

The home has received the remaining resident and staff results from the PCR testing completed on Evergreen Walk on Tuesday.  I am pleased to report that we have no new additional resident or staff cases.   All residents and staff will undergo PCR testing again on Monday, January 10, 2022, provided there are no new confirmed cases before that time.

Fourth Doses for Residents

We will be administering fourth doses for residents, for whom we have received consents, on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The Ministry has confirmed any MRNA vaccine product is acceptable as a fourth dose, although they have advised that the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine may provide a more robust immune response.

Third Dose Requirement

All staff, students, volunteers and caregivers will be required to have a third booster dose.  If you were eligible for a booster on or before December 31st, 2021, third doses must be administered by January 28, 2022.  All caregivers who had their second dose on or before October 9, 2021 are subject to this requirement.

If you received your second dose after October 9, 2021, third doses must be administered by March 14, 2022. Third doses can be administered 3 months (84 days) after the second dose.

Booster clinics are scheduled at McCormick Home on January 12, 2022 and January 13, 2022 for staff, students, volunteers, caregivers and support workers.  To book your vaccine, please contact Arlene or Tanya. If you have received your third dose and have not yet provided proof, please email a copy to tpol@mccormickcare.ca

Please continue to be diligent following all public health measures including masking, physical distancing and hand hygiene.

Thank you,
