McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Wednesday, July 15, 2020
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update Wednesday, July 15, 2020. We will continue to provide these updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
Today, the Ontario government held a news conference announcing changes to visitor protocols within long-term care homes. Minister Fullerton announced that as of today, Wednesday, July 15, 2020, a person visiting a resident outside a home will no longer need to attest that they have taken a COVID-19 test within the previous two weeks and that two visitors at a time are now permitted. More details will be provided once formal documents are received.
There was also an announcement that indoor visits can resume on July 22, 2020. These visits will require a negative COVID-19 test and will be limited to two visitors at a time. Our current practice of verifying test results will remain in place. We are awaiting the formal release of the details for protocols related to indoor visits, but wanted to provide an update at the earliest convenience. As soon as more information is received on the protocols required for indoor visiting, an update will be sent.
Thank you again for your ongoing patience during these unprecedented times.
