McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Friday, July 23, 2021
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Friday, July 23, 2021.
The front door entrance will now be unlocked between 8:00am and 7:00pm daily. To gain entry during these hours, please press the green button on the brick wall. A reminder that if there is already an individual at the screening station, please wait your turn and maintain 6 feet social distancing.
I am currently in the process of reviewing all of the ministry documents. In the COVID-19 guidance document for long-term care homes in Ontario, there has been a change to the language around masking. Please be aware of the following change:
Homes must ensure that all essential visitors wear a medical mask for the entire duration of their visit, both indoors and outdoors, regardless of their immunization status.
General visitors must wear a medical mask or a non-medical mask during their visit. If the visit is indoors, general visitors must wear a medical mask.
Previous versions stated “surgical/procedure mask” for caregivers/ visitors coming into the home. The home is asking that all visitors and essential caregivers change their mask upon entry to the home. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
