COVID-19 Update July 30 2020

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Thursday, July 30, 2020

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, July 30, 2020.

As the state of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to stabilize, family updates will occur twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.

There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.

Our COVID-19 staff surveillance testing completed on July 23 and 24, 2020, resulted in 100% negative results.  I continue to be amazed by the staff’s commitment to completing this testing every two weeks and would like to personally thank Nancy Griffiths, nurse practitioner; Arlene MacDonald, clinical RN; Kerri Gaffney, assistant director of care; and Angela Murray, director of resident care, for assisting with this time-consuming, yet critical process.  On-site staff testing would not be possible without their commitment and assistance, and we are grateful to each of them.

Indoor visiting commenced on July 27, 2020, within the home.  We will continue to monitor the number of requests for indoor versus outdoor visits and re-evaluate our scheduling process during the week of August 10, 2020.

Please note that due to the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 3, 2020, our next update will be sent on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Have a great long weekend!
