McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Friday, May 15, 2020
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Friday, May 15, 2020. We will continue to provide these updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
This week we have been celebrating Caregivers’ Week, to honour and show our appreciation to our very own McCormick Home Healthcare Heroes. It is hard to believe that 9 weeks have passed since our worlds were turned upside down with the global Covid-19 pandemic. It was a fun week of fellowship with one another and allowed us the opportunity to show our staff how much we appreciate all that they do. It was fitting that our negative COVID-19 test results for both residents and staff were confirmed this week; a reflection of our collaborative efforts to ensure the safety of your loved ones and each other.
It is with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of another local, dedicated healthcare hero, a PSW who worked supporting the Sisters of St. Josephs. We join with our friends, colleagues and all the members of our health care family and wider community in mourning this tragic loss. On Thursday, we honoured this individual with a moment of silence and lowered our flag to half-mast to acknowledge the loss.
On behalf of all our staff, I wish you all a safe and healthy Victoria Day weekend.
