McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Tuesday, May 24, 2022
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Oak Avenue continues to be in a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak. All residents, with the exception of those who are currently positive, will be re-swabbed on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 as per the health unit outbreak measures in place. Any residents who were high risk contacts of COVID-19 positive residents (i.e. table mates), will have their isolation discontinued once negative results of their PCR test are confirmed.
Memory Lane continues to be in suspect COVID outbreak status, with one new confirmed case today.
The following restrictions are in place for Oak Avenue and Memory Lane, as per outbreak measures stipulated by the Middlesex-London Health unit:
- Residents are not permitted to leave the home for social absences; residents from Memory Lane and Oak Avenue cannot leave the property at this time.
- Residents in these home areas are restricted to having one approved essential caregiver at a time; no general visitors are permitted at this time.
- The health unit has granted approval for well residents from both home areas to have outdoor visits/walks with one approved essential caregiver. The caregiver must be masked at this time, and maintain physical distancing from other staff, residents or members of the public.
- As per our organizational policy, if the essential caregiver is unvaccinated or has not provided proof of vaccination, they will not be permitted in a home area in a COVID-19 outbreak.
We ask for your ongoing diligence in respecting all public health measures and monitoring yourself for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please contact Arlene MacDonald, infection control manager, at 519-432-2648, ext. 2463 or amacdonald@mccormickcare.ca.
Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
