COVID-19 Update May 26, 2022

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Thursday, May 26, 2022

This is a McCormick Care Group update for Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The PCR test results from Memory Lane and Oak Avenue have been received.

We regret to inform you that additional cases have been identified in both home areas.

Memory Lane has 5 positive cases, 1 symptomatic and 4 asymptomatic cases.  Oak Avenue has 7 positive cases, 3 symptomatic, and 4 asymptomatic cases.

Given the latest cases identified in Memory Lane, additional testing for residents will occur on Monday, May 30, 2022 (Day 5) to monitor for any additional cases.

There will be no changes to the current restrictions in place as per outbreak measures stipulated by the Middlesex-London Health unit for Memory Lane and Oak Avenue. They remain as follows:

  • Residents are not permitted to leave the home for social absences; residents from Memory Lane and Oak Avenue cannot leave the property at this time.
  • Residents in these home areas are restricted to having one approved essential caregiver at a time; no general visitors are permitted at this time.
  • The health unit has granted approval for well residents from both home areas to have outdoor visits/walks with one approved essential caregiver. The caregiver must be masked at this time, and maintain physical distancing from other staff, residents or members of the public.
  • As per our organizational policy, if the essential caregiver is unvaccinated or has not provided proof of vaccination, they will not be permitted in a home area in a COVID-19 outbreak.

We ask for your ongoing diligence in respecting all public health measures and monitoring yourself for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

If you have any questions, please contact Arlene MacDonald, infection control manager, at 519-432-2648, ext. 2463 or amacdonald@mccormickcare.ca.

Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

Thank you,
