McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Tuesday, May 3, 2022
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
We regret to inform you that we have had one resident and one staff member test positive for COVID-19 in our Willow Ridge Home area.
The nursing team has just completed resident swabs on Willow Ridge, and they are being sent to the lab for processing as quickly as possible. As we wait for the PCR results, the Middlesex-London Health Unit has declared a suspect outbreak. As per the health unit’s direction, residents from Willow Ridge must remain in their home area unless they are going to a medical appointment, and visitors will be restricted to one approved essential caregiver with proof of vaccination. General visitors are not permitted in Willow Ridge at this time. Please note that only residents who are symptomatic will be isolated in their rooms. An update will be provided as information becomes available.
Oak Avenue continues to be in a respiratory rhinovirus (common cold) outbreak. New cases have been identified today, and now the earliest this outbreak would be declared over is May 12, 2022.
We ask for your ongoing diligence in following public health measures and monitoring yourself for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please contact Arlene MacDonald, infection control manager, at 519-432-2648, ext. 2463 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
