COVID-19 Update May 4 2021

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Tuesday May 4, 2021

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Two local long-term care homes went into COVID-19 outbreak on Monday, May 3, 2021.  This is a strong reminder of why we have the processes in place that we do.

We continue to require all visitors to wait for their rapid test results to process before proceeding to the floors.  Enhanced diligence in following public health measures both inside and outside the home remains a critical step in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.  Our goal remains to keep your loved ones safe, and during this increased period of risk in our community, I am grateful to each of you for waiting the 15-minute testing process to protect our most vulnerable.

As previously communicated, family members are required to be tested every other day, to a maximum of three times per week.  To ease the process for our tracking purposes and statistic submission to the ministry, a “week” is considered the period from Monday to Sunday. The new week will reset on Mondays, regardless of when you were last tested.  As such, if you are visiting on a Monday, you will be asked to be tested as the new cycle resets.

Thank you to all of you for your continued patience and diligence as we strive in our collective goal to keep our residents and each other safe.
