McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Thursday, November 12, 2020
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, November 12, 2020. We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
On Tuesday evening, I spoke with Dr. Alex Summers, Associate Medical Officer of Health with the Middlesex-London Health Unit, regarding the recommendations that were put into place on October 9, 2020, for visitors and absences for residents of long-term care. There continue to be increasing numbers of new COVID-19 cases within the Middlesex-London region. Dr. Summers strongly recommends that homes continue to suspend all non-essential visitors and resident absences. With that being said, if you would like the home to consider a resident absence for your loved one as per Directive #3 from the Ministry of Long-Term Care, please submit a written request indicating the details of the visit and the health measures in place to protect your loved one and others upon returning to the home.
I am anticipating updated recommendations from Dr. Summers in the coming week. We thank you for your ongoing understanding and cooperation in our ongoing goal of remaining infection-free.
As a reminder, please submit your negative COVID-19 test results to admin.assistant@mccormickcare.ca, as this e-mail is monitored seven days a week.
Please note that I will be taking a vacation day on Monday, November 16, 2020. As such, the next family update will be sent on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, unless an emergent issue arises.
Thank you.
