McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Thursday, November 19, 2020
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, November 19, 2020. We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
I am pleased to report that our COVID-19 staff surveillance testing completed on November 9 and 10, 2020, resulted in 100% negative results.
Yesterday, the provincial government announced changes to COVID-19 testing frequency for long-term care homes in the province’s Orange-Restrict, Red-Control and Lockdown levels. As a reminder, Middlesex-London is currently designated Yellow-Protect. If our area goes into orange, red or lockdown, the testing requirements will be as follows:
- Staff, essential caregivers and support workers who provide direct care to residents need to be tested for COVID-19 weekly and show proof of a negative test result.
- Support workers who do not provide direct care to residents must verbally attest to having received a negative COVID-19 test result in the past two weeks.
Please note that I will be taking a vacation day on Monday, November 23, 2020. As such, the next update will be sent on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, unless an emergent issue arises.
Have a wonderful weekend,
