COVID-19 Update November 23 2021

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Tuesday, November 23, 2021

This is a McCormick Home update for Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

McCormick Home experienced a fire in a motor in the kitchen duct work this morning. The fire department was on scene and the situation has since been resolved.  The staff did an amazing job, and there were no resident/staff injuries or damages to the home.

McCormick Home will be offering two upcoming COVID-19 booster clinics for eligible staff and caregivers next week.  We are able to offer both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The clinics will be held on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As a reminder, in order to be eligible for the COVID-19 booster, 24 weeks must have passed since your second dose.

Alternatively, appointments can be booked at the Agriplex by visiting www.covidvaccinelm.ca or by calling 226-289-3560 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days a week.  Please note that appointments must be prescheduled for third doses — walk-ins are not available.  The Agriplex is currently operating Monday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

If you are interested in booking a third dose for the December 14 or December 15 clinics, please e-mail Tanya Pol at tpol@mccormickcare.ca or call Arlene MacDonald, assistant director of care, at ext. 2404, as there are limited appointments available each day.

Please note: As the pandemic stabilizes, family updates will not be posted to the website unless they relate specifically to COVID-19 or we are in outbreak.

Thank you,

Tanya Pol,
