McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update
Tuesday, November 24, 2020
This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, November 24, 2020. We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.
There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.
London’s assessment centres will be moving to an enhanced booking system that will allow families to book subsequent appointments. I have reached out to confirm when this option will be available and will provide an update as soon as I receive this information.
As a reminder, Middlesex-London still remains designated as Yellow-Protect. As a result, at this time, caregivers and indoor visitors are required to have testing completed every 14 days.
The Ministry of Long-Term Care has issued the Directive COVID-19: Long-Term Care Home Surveillance Testing and Access to Homes, effective November 23, 2020. For long-term care homes in yellow-protect levels, homes must “ensure all caregivers, all support workers and any general visitors demonstrate that they have received a negative COVID-19 test result and verbally attest to having received a negative COVID-19 test result in the past two weeks and not subsequently testing positive prior to visiting.” Evidence of negative COVID-19 tests is now required and failure to present this proof after November 30, 2020, will result in non-entry into the home. If you still have a red and white health card, I would encourage you to explore getting it replaced as it will not allow you to access your results online.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you,
