COVID-19 Update Oct 14 2022

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Friday October 14, 2022

This is a McCormick Care Group update for Friday, October 14, 2022.

I am pleased to report that all resident home areas of are out of outbreak. I want to thank all residents, families and staff for their patience and diligence as we managed our way through.

As flu season approaches, we will be holding a flu shot clinic at McCormick Home for all families, caregivers, volunteers and staff on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room.  No appointment is needed – drop-ins are welcome.

Finally, effective today, the Ministry of Long-Term Care has relaxed the rules related to masking requirement for visitors in resident rooms.  Visitors meeting one-on-one with residents in their rooms are no longer required to wear a mask. We understand the benefit that residents derive from being able to visit without masks and very much appreciate your having cooperated with this requirement for the last two years. Masks must be worn if staff or other residents enter a resident’s room, and they continue to be required when outside the resident’s room.

With COVID-19 circulating and flu and other infectious diseases expected to increase, we appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
