COVID-19 Update September 10 2020

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Thursday, September 10, 2020

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, September 10, 2020.  We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.

There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.

Thank you to those families who were able to participate in the Zoom call yesterday.  Unfortunately it was not recorded, so you are encouraged to go onto our website and review the revised policies, procedures and educational requirements related to the latest visitor policy changes.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me for clarification.

With the latest ministry updates, family members/friends who are designated as caregivers must now submit their caregiver request in writing. If you have already been designated as a caregiver, please submit your confirmation via e-mail or in writing to Tanya Pol at tpol@mccormickcare.ca or Kerri Gaffney at kgaffney@mccormickcare.ca.  If you want to start coming into the home as a caregiver, please contact Kerri Gaffney, Arlene MacDonald or Angela Murray to complete the assessment process.  The criteria for caregiver consideration can be found on our website.

Family members have reported seeing other family members not wearing masks when visiting or dropping off their loved ones in their cars.  As discussed during the Zoom call, all families must ensure public health measures are followed to protect the safety of not only their loved one, but of all residents, staff and visitors in our home.  It is a collaborative effort to keep McCormick Home a safe environment for all.

Thank you,

Tanya Pol
