COVID-19 Update September 14 2020

McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update

Monday, September 14, 2020

This is a McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Monday, September 14, 2020.  We will continue to provide these updates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, or as needed.

There are no probable or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our residents or staff at this time.

A community COVID-19 outbreak was declared by the Middlesex-London Public Health Unit as a result of five Western University students testing positive over the weekend.  This is a strong reminder to all family and friends of McCormick Home residents that COVID-19 is still prevalent in our community, and extreme caution and adherence to public health measures are critical when visiting or taking your loved one out of the home.

As communicated previously, the use of washroom facilities by visitors is not permitted, as directed by the Ministry of Long-Term Care.  Please ensure you take a hygiene break before coming to visit your loved one.

If you are visiting on the grounds of McCormick Home, you must meet the guidelines in place for outdoor visiting.   The Ministry of Long-Term Care does not consider an on-site outdoor group visit as a short-stay absence.

Please review all policies and procedures related to visiting and infection control and prevention on our website: www.mccormickhome.ca.  By clicking the “Information on COVID-19 Virus” link, you will be directed to the files.

Thank you for your ongoing collaboration in ensuring a safe environment for all residents, staff and visitors of McCormick Home.
