McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update #2
Thursday, September 2, 2021
This is a second McCormick Care Group – COVID-19 Update for Thursday, September 2, 2021.
We have heard back from the health unit, and at this time no further steps need to be taken at the home until the result of the staff member’s PCR test is known. We anticipate that we will receive the results at some point tomorrow, at which point decisions will be made about the need for residents and staff to undergo PCR testing.
With more than 850 new COVID-19 cases in the province and after consulting with several of our long-term care partners, we will be increasing our frequency of rapid testing at the home. As a reminder, the testing guidelines set by the ministry are a minimum requirement; homes have the ability to increase their frequency. All unvaccinated individuals entering the home will be required to be rapid tested each day they enter the home, and vaccinated individuals are to be rapid tested once a week.
Thank you in advance for your understanding. An update will be provided as soon as we have the PCR results.
