McCormick Care Group – Family Update
Friday, June 9, 2023
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Friday, June 9, 2023.
As a result of recent testing, the Middlesex-London Health Unit has declared a respiratory outbreak in Memory Lane.
We have already implemented several control measures, including:
- Keeping infected residents in their home area. Communal dining will continue for well residents.
- Continuing with activities for small cohorts/group sizes.
- Cleaning high-touch surface areas and bringing in additional housekeeping staff.
- Encouraging social distancing.
- Ensuring thorough hand hygiene for staff and residents.
- Isolating ill residents for five days from onset or until symptoms resolve, whichever is sooner.
If you are ill or do not wish to assume the risk of infection, we recommend that you refrain from visiting the home at this time. If you are visiting a resident who is in isolation, you must wear the appropriate PPE throughout the duration of the visit. In addition, only one resident may be visited in the home at a time.
For those planning to attend the family barbecue on Sunday, public health has advised that any resident NOT in isolation may continue to participate.
