We have just received confirmation from the Middlesex-London Public Health Unit that Evergreen Walk is in a confirmed parainfluenza outbreak. Maple Grove and Willow Ridge have also been declared in a suspect COVID outbreak.
Effective immediately:
- Residents will remain on their respective home areas. Absences will be granted only for medical, palliative or compassionate care reasons. Activities will continue on these home areas, however, residents on isolation will be provided one on one activities.
- All staff will use N-95 masks and goggles when in the affected home area.
- General visitors are being asked to postpone all non-essential visits to residents within these home areas for the duration of the outbreak. Essential caregivers are permitted to visit one at a time and are encouraged to protect themselves by wearing N-95 masks.
- Masks should not be removed at any time while in the home area, including in resident rooms. Please check with staff on these home areas for PPE requirements.
We recognize that there are an increasing number of respiratory and COVID-related infections in the community. Please do your utmost to follow infection prevention and control measures and please do not visit if feeling unwell.
