McCormick Care Group – Home Update
Thursday, September 21, 2023
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Thursday, September 21, 2023
As we approach the respiratory season, our community is experiencing a surge in respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19. As you know, it is paramount that we uphold our commitment to safeguard the health and well-being of our residents. In light of these circumstances, we are re-instating universal masking protocols for all staff and visitors at McCormick Home, effective September 27, 2023. The need for this precaution will be re-evaluated as the prevalence of respiratory illnesses decreases in the community.
Visitors will be required to wear masks at all times, including in common areas. The only exception to this rule is when they are in a resident’s room. This measure remains in line with our dedication to maintaining a safe environment and minimizing the risk of the spread of infectious illnesses.
In addition to our universal mask-wearing policy, regular hand washing/sanitizing, covering of the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and staying home when feeling unwell will help to protect everyone from illness. We also encourage you to stay up-to-date with your COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
We appreciate everyone’s continued diligence and dedication to resident safety during these challenging times. Together, we can navigate this season and ensure the well-being of everyone, especially those under our care.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
