McCormick Care Group Update
Friday, April 21, 2023
This is a McCormick Care Group update for Friday, April 21, 2023.
An enteric outbreak has been declared for the Maple Ridge home area. There are currently 10 infected residents. There is a possibility the infection has spread to Oak Avenue, with three people now showing signs of illness.
Please avoid visiting the home if you are feeling unwell, as there is a potential risk of becoming infected. If you do visit the home, please only visit with your resident in their room and not in the common areas, and visit with one resident only when you are here.
Please remember that masks are still required in the home, with the exception of the resident’s room when the door it closed; however, if your loved one is ill, you are required to wear PPE as directed.
No social outings are permitted for residents on affected home areas. Please check in with the nurse in your loved one’s home area if you have any questions.
Please continue to practice frequent hand hygiene before and after touching anything or interacting with your loved one.
Recreation activities will continue with residents in small groups or one-on-one in the home area.
